Local folklore (?): At one time drugs were a problem in the Wiest parking lot, SW of Elkhorn Avenue behind this building. Local law officers set up a sting using the rug shop's back door to do surveillance on the lot, and with just the screen door between them and the bad guys, were able to quickly burst out through the screen and arrest some locals who were locked up for their crimes.
